  1. He is the founder and the Managing Partner of SRD & Co., CPAs, a Category A accredited Business Assurance Firm by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Board of Accountancy.
  2. A respected Business Advisor and Business Consultant for General Management and Financial Management in Cebu. He sits in the Board or in the Executive Committee in some of these businesses.

HIS EXPERIENCE IN BUSINESS ASSURANCE SERVICES/PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY

  1. He spent a total of 29 years with SGV & Co., from 1962 to 1991. Ten years of those years as a Partner, leading SGV’s operations in Central and Eastern Visayas and Northern and Northwestern Mindanao.
  2. At the Firm’s request, he rejoined SGV in 2003 to 2006, as a Senior Advisor to restructure their organization and operation in Cebu and Central Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

HIS SIGNIFICANT BUSINESS MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

  1. He was appointed to the Board of PNOC Alternative Fuels Corporation, a GOCC, and became its Chairman of the Board from 2011 to 2016.
  2. He was the President & CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Cebu Corporation, the biggest Provincial Dealer of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, from 1997 to 2010. A company whose headquarters is in Cebu has an extensive operations in Leyte, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Ozamis, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.
  3. He was the Vice-President and Treasurer from 1998 to 2016 of CP Kelco (Philippines), Inc. and at the same time, Managing Director of Trinity Management Ventures, Inc. CP Kelco (Philippines), Inc. is engaged in the manufacture Carrageenan and Trinity Management Ventures, Inc. was involved in property development, both are affiliated companies.

HIS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES

  1. Graduated from the University of San Carlos in 1960 in its school of Business and Economics and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1961.
  2. Yearly intensive and extensive trainings and seminars in SGV in business assurance and business advisory services.
  3. At SGV’s initiative to develop its people, attended extensive top management development programs at the Asian Institute of Management in 1977 and 1984.
  4. Again, at SGV’s initiative, was sent to an Exchange Visitors’ Program with Ernst & Young in its Leading Practice Office in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in 1979 to 1981.

  1. Became President or Chairman of such business organizations as: The Cebu Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Inc., The Cebu Business Club, The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Cebu Chapter, The Financial Executive Institute of the Philippines, Cebu Chapter, Cebu Business Council of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Phippines, The Cebu Educational Development Foundation for IT (Ced-fit), and The Rotary Club of Cebu West.
  2. He was the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark (1992 to 2016) and the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway (2007 to 2013) and bestowed the Honorary Knighthood by both Countries.

DEXTER JOSEPH B. CUEVAS, CPA, MBA

  1. He is the Partner of Operations.
  2. He is in the Business Assurance Services of SRD & Co., CPAs. He has significant experience in the audits of rural banks, cooperative banks and development banks and other financial institutions with quasi-banking functions. He is accredited with the Securities and Exchange Commission under Group B, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Board of Accountancy, Bureau of Internal Revenue and the National Electrification Administration.
  3. He sits as an independent director and a chairman of the audit committee of Agape Academy, Inc., a private secondary education in Sibonga, Cebu.
  4. He is a senior lecturer of the graduate school program of the University of the Philippines.
  5. He is a professor of the graduate school and undergraduate program of the University of San Jose – Recoletos.

As a Partner of Operations, he handles various assurance engagements such as audits of banks, universities, hospitals, issuers of proprietary membership certificates, public companies, real estate and manufacturing companies.

  1. He graduated B.S. Accountancy in the University of San Jose – Recoletos in March 2007 and became Certified Public Accountant in October 2007.
  2. He obtained his Master in Business Administration in the University of Philippines – Cebu in June 2016.

She joined SRD & Co., CPAs on November 4, 2013 as a Junior Audit Associate. She was promoted as an Account in-charge in January 2015, as a Supervising Associate in September 2016, and as a Manager in July 2017. Her experiences in Assurance Services include the Independent Audit of Rural and Thrift Banks, Hospitals, Educational Institutions, Real Estate Businesses, Manufacturing Companies, and Non-stock Non-profit Organizations. ATTY. RITA ASUNCION S. FERNANDEZ, CPA

  • In 1994, she moved to SGV’s Tax Division, where, before long she became its Tax Services Director, heading its Tax Division in Cebu, Mactan and Cagayan de Oro.
  • While in SGV, she handled advisory services of multi-national companies including transactions with application of international tax treaties. She also handled tax advocacy and controversy services by liaising with tax authorities and represented clients in all kinds of registrations with various Philippine government agencies such as the BIR, SEC, PEZA, BOI, Intellectual Property Office and other related engagements. She left SGV in 2005 and organized, the Fernandez-Aguja Law Firm.

  • Conducting extensive diagnostic evaluation of companies’ tax position, practices and procedures for purposes of identifying potential tax exposures and recommend corrective actions, tax planning where opportunities or areas are identified to effectively generate tax savings.
  • She is trained to do extensive research on corporate and tax matters affecting various contracts, reorganization plans, tax disputes and controversies.
  • She also handled advocacy and controversy work through liaising with tax authorities in handling tax disputes arising from tax assessments.
